Academic Scholarship and Reports

HPOD undertakes cross-disciplinary comparative and international research on a broad range of critical human rights issues that are important to people with disabilities. These include conceptions of disability, future law and policy development, rights consciousness, employment, poverty, inclusive development, and humanitarian relief. This scholarship seeks to develop new thinking in academia on disabilism, human rights, and knowledge of how to advance the human rights of people with disabilities.

HPOD also undertakes or provides technical assistance on reports that assess the legal and human rights status of people with disabilities. We collaborate on reports on issues ranging from ratification to monitoring.
