Welcome to HPOD!

The Harvard Law School Project on Disability (HPOD) seeks to use our learning in comparative and international law to advance understanding regarding disability law, policy and education around the world. Our academic work informs our pro bono work and, in turn, our pro bono activities inform our academic initiatives.

HPOD works to:

  • Engage in ground-breaking scholarship on disability law as well as comparative and international dimensions thereof
  • Advance instruction on disability law at leading academic institutions around the world
  • Inform innovative policy and legislative development by sharing our research and experience
  • Promote full inclusion in school, work, and all other parts of society
  • Provide training to persons with disabilities and their allies
  • Work with individuals with disabilities as they advocate for themselves
  • Empower parents of children with disabilities to support and advocate for their children
